Shore Poets June 2026: Themed Open Mic Night! With host Tom Pow & music from Saturn the Goddess

Yes, you heard correctly … We’re rounding up our 2025-26 season with an ALL OPEN MIC event – so get your reading & writing muscles working & make your bid to grace the stage! Shore Poets Honorary President Tom Pow will steer us through an elementally themed evening, in which readers are invited to pair a poem by another writer which deals, directly or indirectly, with one of the four elements (earth, wind, water, fire) with a poem of their own addressing either the same or a different element. Seeking inspiration to write that summer solstice poem? Or to pen the definitive ode to the barbecue, your local Victorian baths, mulch, manure, or one of the many Scottish categories of gale? We bring you the perfect spur!

We have up to ten 5-minute slots available on a first come, first served basis – so do get in touch as soon as ever you please, at shorepoetsedinburgh @ gmail.com (remove the gaps), to ensure you’re among the band of bards helping us toast another fine year’s roster of performances and craic. With music by the exquisitely named Saturn the Goddess, and a range of raffle prizes, some of them food for the body, some for the mind … Further details below! 🌻💨🐳🔥🎤
