‘Change rules’, said Edwin Morgan, Push the Boat Out festival’s muse. So this month, we’re changing it up in every which way possible bar our usual format. Thursday becomes Saturday; evening becomes afternoon. Upstairs at The Waverley morphs into the Pleasance Cabaret Bar. In place of the wee cardboard sign and the slightly stressed Shore/s trying to get the SumUp thing to work & fumbling coins & pens & raffle tickets, we bring you a sleek, fancy pants link via which you can secure your seat in advance. Oh la la!
Don’t worry, though: Christine will be there to keep it all real and Shore-spirited, as will SP regulars the wonderful Self-Righteous Brothers.
There’s even word of the lemon cake making the pilgrimage.
And we have a TO DIE FOR poetry line-up, with special guests Tim Cresswell and Karen Solie (winner of the 2025 Forward Prize).
Time to get your tickets, folks – this is one you don’t want to miss! 🚢⚓🐳💙
