In our last event of 2022, we’ll be lifting our winter spirits with poetry from Nancy Campbell, Tim Craven and open mic readers, and music from The Self-Righteous Brothers. Please note that we’ll again be in a different venue, upstairs in The Waverley Bar on St. Mary’s Street (further details below); the event will also begin at the later time of 7.45pm. Apologies for the fact that things have been chopping and changing a bit over the past while, and thank you for bearing with us! ❤️

The Poets:
NANCY CAMPBELL

Nancy Campbell’s books include Disko Bay (Enitharmon), Thunderstone (Elliott & Thompson), Uneasy Pieces (Guillemot Press), and Navigations (HappenStance) which collects poems written during her recent tenure as Canal Laureate. In 2020 Nancy received the RGS Ness Award for her creative response to the polar environment, following research residencies in the Arctic and the Alps. She writes for the Guardian and The TLS, and is a former editor of Oxford Poetry.
TIM CRAVEN

Tim is from Stoke-on-Trent and lives in Leith. He has an MFA from Syracuse and a PhD from Edinburgh, which explored mental illness in Confessional poetry. His poems have recently appeared in The Poetry Review, The London Magazine, The Rialto and Bath Magg, and his pamphlet, Lake Effect, is published by Tapsalteerie. timcraven.co.uk
Signing up for the Open Mic:
We have four open mic spots each month. These are booked in advance. To request an open mic spot in the future please email us at shorepoetsedinburgh @ gmail.com (remove the spaces)
The Raffle:
Entry includes a raffle ticket; additional tickets are also available to buy when you arrive, should you wish to increase your chances of winning this month’s scrummy lemon cake! Arts funding is a precarious business and our lemon cake raffle goes a long way to keeping the Shore Poets financially viable. We’re very grateful to all our supporters who have contributed to our funds over the years in this way.
Look forward to seeing you there!
