Please join us for our first event of the 2022/23 season! We’re delighted to present poetry from Lauren Pope, Annie Brechin and open mic readers, plus music from our house band, Dekoy.
The When & the Where:

Admission: Entrance charge is £7.50 (waged) and £5 (concession). This includes one raffle ticket, which will also be your entrance receipt. We have a card machine but it’s worth bringing cash, too, in case you’d like to buy a book.
The Poets:
LAUREN POPE
Lauren Pope is a 2019 Manchester Poetry Prize finalist, and winner of the 2021 Brotherton Poetry Prize. Her debut collection, Always Erase, was published by Blue Diode Press in January, and a new pamphlet, Close Your Eyes When You Look At Me, is forthcoming from Broken Sleep Books in November. She is a 2022 Scottish Book Trust Debut Lab writer.
ANNIE BRECHIN
Annie Brechin has been published in Poetry Wales, Under The Radar, The Wolf, Stand, Magma, Rising, B O D Y, Paris Lit Up and others. In 2003 she was awarded a Jerwood/Arvon Young Poets Apprenticeship. Former Poetry Editor for The Prague Revue, she moved from Dubai to Edinburgh in 2018. A pamphlet, The Body Alone, was launched in 2017. Her first full length collection, The Mouth Of Eulalie, was published by Blue Diode Press in March 2022.

The Raffle:
Entry includes a raffle ticket; additional tickets are also available to buy when you arrive, should you wish to increase your chances of winning this month’s scrummy lemon cake! Arts funding is a precarious business and our lemon cake raffle goes a long way to keeping the Shore Poets financially viable. We’re very grateful to all our supporters who have contributed to our funds over the years in this way.
